On April 27, 2026, Mr. Takuho Senzaki, Director-General for the Higher Education Bureau at the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), visited IVReD.

During the visit, Professor Hirofumi Sawa, Director of IVReD, introduced the importance of strengthening global preparedness and response to infectious diseases, as well as IVReD’s research achievements and future directions. The discussions also highlighted our integrated efforts in the development of vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics, along with its initiatives to foster the next generation of researchers and international students. The visit provided a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas on further improving our research framework.

At the end of the visit, Mr. Senzaki toured the IVReD research facilities, gaining a deeper understanding of the institute’s research environment and its educational and research support systems.
