Division of Vaccine Development

  • Isolation of pathogens, establishment of libraries, and elucidation of transmission pathways
  • Structural analysis of pathogens and structural analysis of vaccine-produced antibodies and pathogen protein binding
  • Development of novel drug delivery system and whole virus particle vaccines

Our Research

Development of a Drug Delivery System (DDS) required for administering mRNA vaccines, establishment of structural vaccinology aiming at vaccine design based on structural analysis of post-vaccination antibodies and pathogen proteins, or binding to pathogens. In addition to trial production of pandemic vaccines using virus libraries and evaluation using infected animal models, target pathogens will be isolated from specimens collected from patients with respiratory infections in Japan and overseas, wild animals, etc., and pathogen strain libraries will be created. The genetic information will be stored in our database and shared with our other colleagues.
