On Friday, April 17, 2026, Dr. Makoto Suematsu (Director), Dr. Akira Takakura (Vice Director), and Dr. Motohito Goto (Animal Resource Technology Research Center) from the Central Institute for Experimental Medicine and Life Science (CIEM) visited IVReD.

During the visit, Professor Hirofumi Sawa, Director of IVReD, provided an overview of the global importance of infectious disease control, along with our research achievements to date and its future directions. This was followed by presentations from Dr. Yukari Itakuraand Dr. Koshiro Tabata, who presented the progress of their ongoing collaborative research with CIEM.

A lively and productive discussion took place during the Q&A session, fostering valuable exchanges of ideas toward the further advancement of collaborative research.

The visit concluded with a tour of IVReD’s facilities, offering guests an opportunity to gain deeper insight into IVReD’s research environment and ongoing initiatives.
