On June 26, 2026, Mr. Mikika Maekawa (Group Leader) and Ms. Hiromi Shinhashi (Group Staff) from the Research Planning Group, Research Planning Division, Research Promotion Department, Institute of Science Tokyo, visited the IVReD.

Professor Hirofumi Sawa, Director of IVReD, introduced the importance of strengthening global preparedness and response to infectious diseases, as well as IVReD’s research achievements and future directions.　The discussions also highlighted our integrated efforts in the development of vaccines, therapeutics, and diagnostics, along with its initiatives to foster the next generation of researchers and international students. At the end of the visit, they toured the IVReD research facilities, gaining a deeper understanding of the institute’s research environment and its educational and research support systems.
