【Overview of the IVReD by Director Sawa】

Ms. Naoko Okamura, former Executive Officer of the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED) and currently a Visiting Professor at the Research Institute for Electronic Science (RIES), Hokkaido University, visited the IVReD on July 25, 2025.

【Greeting with Dr. Gonzalez】

First, Professor Hirofumi Sawa, Director of the IVReD, explained the background of its establishment, research activities, and industry–academia–government collaboration initiatives. This was followed by a laboratory tour, during which Ms. Okamura showed great interest in the research facilities and ongoing projects. She also actively engaged with international students, asking questions and exchanging views on the importance of an international research environment.

This visit served not only as an opportunity to widely share the IVReD’s initiatives, but also as a valuable occasion for exchanging ideas on future research collaboration.
