【Event Report】Seminar: July 8, 5:00 p.m. Special lecture by Dr. Yuki Furuse

The “2nd Hokkaido University Vaccine Research and Development Center Special Lecture” was held at the Lecture Hall, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Hokkaido University, from 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 8, 2025.

Dr. Yuki Furuse from the Department of Microbiology and Infection, The University of Tokyo Pandemic Preparedness, Infection and Advanced Research Center (UTOPIA), The University of Tokyo, gave a special lecture titled “International Health and Infectious Disease Research from the Perspective of WHO and Cluster Response Teams.”

Based on his extensive experience working at the WHO and the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare’s Cluster Response Team to give a clear and enthusiastic talk about the real issues facing international health and infectious disease control, as well as the outlook for future infectious disease research.

A total of 47 people participated in the event, and there was an active question and answer session. For young researchers in particular, it was a valuable opportunity to broaden their horizons in terms of international career development and infectious disease control.

IVReD will continue to invite experts working at the forefront of a variety of fields to provide a forum for continuous intellectual exchange.
