the Institute for Vaccine Research and Development (IVReD) at Hokkaido University co-hosted a hybrid seminar titled “Immune responses to viral infection and vaccination in humans and animal model” in collaboration with the International Institute for Zoonoses on Tuesday, February 28, 2023.

The seminar featured Professor Katherine Kedzierska (University of Melbourne; Visiting Professor at IVReD and the International Institute for Zoonoses), a world-leading expert in cellular immune responses to viral respiratory infections. She was the first to publish immunological analyses of samples from COVID-19 patients. Other invited speakers included Dr. Brendon Chua (Senior Research Fellow), Dr. Oanh Nguyen (Senior Research Fellow), and Dr. Louise Rowntree (Research Fellow) from the University of Melbourne.

They presented their latest findings on host immune responses to viral infections. With 33 participants and active discussions during the Q&A sessions, the seminar provided a fruitful and engaging opportunity for scientific exchange.
