On November 25, 2024, Institute for Vaccine Research and Development (IVReD) held a signing ceremony with the Institut Pasteur du Japon (IPJ), formalizing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for research collaboration.
The ceremony was held at the Hokkaido University Tokyo Office and was attended by Dr. Anavaj Sakuntabhai, Executive Director of IPJ , Ms. Risa Nikel, Assistant to the Executive Director of IPJ, Dr. Adeline Lassaux, Attachée for Science and Technology from the Embassy of France in Japan, Prof. Hirofumi Sawa, Director of IVReD, Prof. Yasuhiko Suzuki, Head of Division of Research Support (International Institute for Zoonosis Control/IVReD) and Dr. Keita Matsuno, Associate Professor (International Institute for Zoonosis Control/IVReD).
IPJ is a Japanese research institute which was established in June 2024 with the support of the Institut Pasteur (Paris, France) and the French Government. IPJ aims to become a world leader in research, education, and innovation focusing on medicine and public health, reinforcing academic-public-private partnerships through dialogues with French and international partners.
The agreement is expected to facilitate exchanges between researchers and the exchange of expertise and technology, and further promote vaccine research and development.
