Overview of Research
- It is known that the immune response is extremely important not only in infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases, and allergic diseases, but also in cancer, metabolic diseases, and more recently in aging. For this reason, it is well-known that analyzing immune responses in these diseases isl not only elucidate the pathology, but also lead to treatment and prevention. In addition, elucidating these requires a wide range of knowledge and techniques, from the molecular level to laboratory animals. Furthermore, it is essential to use not only mice but also primates for analysis in laboratory animals, and this research requires advanced knowledge, techniques, and experience. At the molecular level, we analyze a wide variety of genes and structures related to the body’s immunity, elucidate what functions they have in the body, and conduct research that contributes to disease control. Furthermore, we conduct analysis from an immunological perspective, and aim to create research on vaccine development using primates that leads to treatment and prevention in humans through analysis in laboratory animals, and to conduct practical research on humans. In addition, in vaccine development, we also conduct research on vectors, vaccine forms, adjuvant molecules, etc., in an attempt to develop new prevention and treatment methods.
