Research Theme

  • Elucidation of the mechanism of cellular immunity induction by novel adjuvant molecules and practical use

Keyword

  • BCG
  • Adjuvant
  • Cytotoxic T cells
  • Antitumor immunity

Overview of Research

  • Immune responses mediated by cytotoxic T lymphocytes (CTLs) play an important role in the elimination of foreign pathogens, infected cells, and tumor cells in vivo.
  • Our previous studies have shown that novel adjuvant molecules derived from the BCG Tokyo strain induce antigen-specific CTL.
  • We aim to develop not only tuberculosis vaccines for adult, but also vaccines against other infectious diseases and applications to cancer treatment by elucidating the mechanism of CTL induction by novel adjuvant molecules.
